FREE Dark Erotica Short Story

Who wants a little FREE dark erotica?

As a little post-Halloween treat, I'm putting my short story Danse Macabre for free this week, Nov. 8-15, on Smashwords.

Go to https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/576761 and use coupon code QL92P.

On another note, if you appreciate great erotica and are not listening to Rose Caraway's The Kiss Me Quick's Erotic Podcast, I strongly suggest you subscribe. Rose features an eclectic mix of erotica that spans all tastes and desires, as well as being a kick-ass narrator. One of my stories, My Sexy Raven: An Edgar Allan Poe Parody, is going to be featured on the next podcast, releasing soon. I'm very excited and hope everyone has a listen. I'll post the date as it becomes available.

In the meantime, you can read the parody at https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/414281, where it is always available for free.

Happy reading!

Another winner from Brenda Sparks!

Woohoo! Deadly Alpha, the second book in Brenda Sparks' Alpha Council Chronicles series is now available! Do yourself a favour, run out and get this book immediately, it is well worth the read.

Hot sex. No regrets. Vampire Marcus Botticelli has spent his life playing the role of the fun-loving playboy. Unfortunately that lifestyle came to an abrupt end for Marcus when his life was turned upside down by his sire. Now in a new city, a new home, he hopes to make a fresh start.

Set on some big changes in her own life, Christina Prescott’s plans are sidetracked when she meets the rich and powerful Marcus. Though the nurse mends the Alpha’s broken heart, he isn’t the only one who needs healing when a depraved darkness seeps into their lives.

As passion burns between the two, evil works to smother the flame of love and separate the heartmates for its own gain. With his heartmate missing, Marcus fears his claim to everlasting love will be destroyed and he will be damned to a life of insanity without Christina.

Excerpt:

Marcus rose from his machine and headed for Christina with the swagger of a male tiger prowling after its mate. His eyes darkening in hunger, he quickened his stride, eating up the space between them.
“Did I do something wrong?” asked Christina.
Her reply came in the way of a rush of cool air when Marcus used his preternatural speed to cross the gym and scoop her up in his arms before pressing his lips to hers in a crushing kiss.
“That stretching was the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen,” he managed to bite out before he kissed her again.
Marcus pinned her against the wall next to the sauna door, his body pressed into hers. Christina wrapped her arms around his neck and returned his kiss with equal urgency. His hunger fueled her desire. He built the lust between them, letting their passion mix in their mindlink until, like a tornado, their desire circulated between them, building until it became an unstoppable whirlwind.
Nicholai opened the door to the sauna and made a hasty exit.
“Get a room, you two.” Nicholai glanced at them quickly, a smile on his handsome face.
Marcus grabbed the open sauna door, catching it before it closed as he broke their kiss. “Sounds like a plan. I think this room will do.”

A Castle of Spirits Submitted Story on Film?

Twelve years ago, Joshua D. Maley submitted a story to Castle of Spirits called The Wraith of Mystery Mile. He has launched a Kickstarter campaign and it is well on its way to being made into a movie! I encourage anyone with a few spare dollars to head over to his Kickstarter page and help fund a story that would look great up on a big screen.

The synopsis:

Something is wrong in the small borough of Industry, Pennsylvania. For almost seventy years, there have been stories, whispers of strange goings-on in the hills above the Ohio River. In the suffocating darkness of these wooded roads, it's said that animals turn rabid. That the shadows themselves will reach out and take you. That those the forest claims, the forest keeps. All Dawn knows is that her sister went into that forest, and never came out. And too soon after, Dawn's mother perished under psychiatric care, claiming she could still hear her missing daughter calling to her from the forest. Begging for help. But so can Dawn. Since that first fateful night, Dawn's sister has come to visit every time she closes her eyes. And recently, even when they're open. Desperate to find answers before she shares her mother's fate, Dawn's journey is spiraling towards its end. Before it's over, she and those she loves will uncover the truth behind Mystery Mile...or die trying.

If you want to support Joshua, please go to https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1173602889/the-way-of-seeming and help make this movie a reality.

You can also follow the film's progress at their Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/thewayofseeming.

And of course Joshua's original story can be read at http://www.castleofspirits.com/stories02/wraithof.html.

What's Your Ghost Story?

I'm fascinated by ghosts. Are they real? If so, are they a genuine supernatural occurrence or some aberration of nature? One theory says that when we die, our energy passes into the quantum realm and moves onward towards another state of being. Could ghosts be us peering into that quantum reality by accident or having them leak into our reality?

There's really no way to know for sure. The religious will tell us that they are the souls of the departed returning from heaven or hell, or are stuck here in a type of purgatory, doomed to wander the Earth until someone or something allows them to go to their final rest. Ghost hunters try to prove the physical characteristics, carrying EMF meters and infra-red cameras to gather evidence that ghosts exits. Skeptics will say that ghosts are nothing more than our brains playing tricks on us. It's been proven in laboratory studies that strong magnetic fields will play havoc with our sense. They make us feel like there is someone else in the room with us, make us feel paranoid, and in some cases, make us hear voices and see shadows out of the corners of our eyes.

Who is right? I couldn't say, I've never had a paranormal experience...at least of which I'm aware. But I love hearing and reading other people's stories about their encounters with ghosts and other paranormal entities.

I became a huge fan of the website CastleofSpirits.com in 1999. I would sit for hours pouring over the thousands of ghost stories collected there by the site's founder, Rowena Gilbert. She and I became fast Internet buddies and when she left this realm way too young in 2008, the Castle of Spirit's torch was passed to me. Now I get to be the one telling ghost stories to the world and I love every email I receive loaded with someone's experience with the paranormal.

The site has been dormant lately but it's time to breathe some more life into it and keep the stories flowing. To kick things off, I'm offering the Castle of Spirits: Tome of Lost Tales book for free in Kindle this weekend, May 30 - June 1. I hope you'll download your copy and come visit the site. And please send me your stories - no matter how crazy it may seem, there are thousands like you out there just waiting to read it.

To download the book, please go to the Tome of Lost Tales on Amazon.
After you've finished the book, come read 4000+ other stories at www.CastleofSpirits.com. Be sure to visit the story submission page and tell me your own story!
